Tuesday June 6, 2023 | The Latest Research, Commentary, And News From Health Affairs
Dear John,

ICYMI, Health Affairs' released its June issue yesterday. Check out the latest research on Medicaid, drug pricing, aging, and more:
CBO Coverage Projections
In an article published in the June 2023 issue, Caroline Hanson and coauthors report Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates to describe the distribution of health insurance coverage in 2023 and discuss the ongoing effects of temporary policies expanding Medicaid and Marketplace coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CBO estimates that the uninsured rate will be the lowest it has ever been in 2023 at 8.3 percent and both Medicaid and Marketplace enrollment will reach historically high levels.

As the temporary expansion policies expire, CBO estimates that the uninsured rate will rise to 10.1 percent by 2033, and throughout the next decade, employment-based coverage will remain the largest source of insurance.

Read Hanson and coauthors’ full report today.
