This doesn't look good for older Americans [link removed] GIVE NOW to Stop the President's Harmful Budget! [link removed] Dear John,

The President's promise that he won't touch Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid is a sham. His proposed budget plan for fiscal year 2021 was unveiled yesterday and once again it literally leaves seniors in the cold by drastically cutting the programs that benefit America's oldest and most vulnerable citizens. No one serious about protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid would propose a budget so harmful to older Americans that includes:
Slashing $478 billion from Medicare over 10 years; gutting Medicaid and Affordable Care Act subsidies by $1 trillion in cuts over 10 years, which undermines seniors' access to long-term care services; cutting Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income benefits by $63 billion over 10 years; cutting block grant funding for vital Meals on Wheels programs, which deliver 2 million hot meals to seniors each year; and eliminating programs that help lower-income adults get community service jobs and help seniors with heating costs. It also deprives the beleaguered Social Security Administration of the vital funding it needs to improve customer service for seniors and people with disabilities. Please make one urgent donation today [link removed] to help the National Committee put pressure on our elected officials to reject this or any budget proposal that tries to pay down soaring budget deficits on the backs of retirees and workers. The fact is, huge unpaid-for tax cuts for the wealthy and multinational corporations are to blame for skyrocketing budget deficits — not Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid. It's clear this budget violates the President's promise to older Americans, which he just reaffirmed in last week's State of the Union address, by gutting Medicaid, weakening Medicare and cutting Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). The National Committee is working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to ensure this budget doesn't see the light of day! Please give one urgent gift today to help us organize, mobilize and make our opposition to the President's dangerous budget heard on Capitol Hill! [link removed] Sincerely, Max Richtman
President & CEO
