My team here in Sacramento combed through over 2,600 bills introduced in the Legislature this year to produce a list of EnviroVoters’ 28 top priority bills. Here are a few of the transformational bills that are advancing:
SB 253, our sponsored bill to hold corporate polluters accountable and promote climate corporate leadership, improved on its Senate vote total from last year.
AB 421, which will reform California’s broken referendum process, passed the Assembly with 75% of the vote!
AB 631, the Community Safety and Protection Act, earned the support of some of the moderate members of the Assembly.
Passing all of the bills on our list is ambitious, but there’s nothing we love more at EnviroVoters than a challenge. Besides, we can’t afford to kick crucial climate policy down the road. The time to act is NOW.
As the fourth largest economy in the world, California has an outsized responsibility to create a roadmap for climate action. What we do will impact not only Californians but all Americans for generations to come.
Friend, it’s not easy trying to take on some of the most powerful players on a global scale as a small nonprofit. We rely on the generosity of our members to allow us to continue to GET STUFF DONE.
By pitching in even just five bucks, you’ll be making an investment in our work to champion bold environmental changes and help us resist Big Oil’s influence in Sacramento — which has global ramifications.
Thank you for your steadfast support. Now, let’s finish the job!
