As the Senior Organizing Manager at Dream.Org, I work with my colleagues every day toward a world with more justice and collective liberation. It’s incredibly rewarding and unfortunately out of reach for many due to economic barriers and limited mentorship opportunities. With this in mind, I’m excited to announce a new initiative designed to empower anyone looking to learn about advocacy: the Dream Fellowship.
The Dream Fellowship is a 12-week virtual training program for those with the vision to bring progress to their communities but who lack the tools and training to do so effectively. We designed this program to address one of the most pressing problems of our time: the widespread belief that real change is not achievable, and that folks like you and I are powerless to make an impact.
Our world may be filled with uncertainty, and things may seem bleak at times, but the power of everyday people working together can change entire systems. That is what the Dream Fellowship is about.
If selected for the fellowship, you will work through a curriculum led by Dream.Org staff like myself, created to prepare you to lead or join a project to improve the conditions of your community, all while forging radically inclusive coalitions across differences in the process.
The Dream Fellowship curriculum topics will range from:
- Grassroots / digital organizing, campaigns and coalition-building
- Working with elected officials
- Marketing, communications, and social media
- Self-care when fighting for change
- Fundraising, activist storytelling, and more!
