[2023 Annual Advocacy Forum]([link removed])
AFSP's [2023 Annual Advocacy]([link removed]) Forum is right around the corner. From June 25 to 28, Volunteer Advocates from across the country will gather in Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress, and make their voices heard for suicide prevention and mental health.
No matter where you are, you can join us for the virtual portion of the [14th Annual Advocacy Forum]([link removed]) on Tuesday, June 27, which will be broadcast from 12pm to 3pm ET at [facebook.com/afspnational]([link removed]) and [youtube.com/afspnational]([link removed]). This important event will include remarks from U.S. Congressman David Trone, as well as experts in the suicide prevention and mental health fields.
Beverly Goldberg, a member of AFSP's Public Policy Council, is one of many who have helped to educate legislators about federal policies that can save lives. Here's what Beverly said about attending the AFSP [Advocacy Forum]([link removed]) in Washington, D.C., in 2014:
“It was a great experience. You see that legislators and the people working in their offices are just like me, and you, and everybody else. You see that everybody gets a voice. You see how some offices are truly engaged and truly passionate.” [(Read more about Beverly's advocacy work on AFSP's Real Stories blog.)]([link removed])
Suicide is preventable, and we each have a role to play in saving lives. We hope you'll join us for this year's online event, and help make a difference as a Volunteer Advocate for suicide prevention.
