In our recent survey, many of our supporters asked what it would take to stay on track for a net zero future. 

It all comes down to the next 7 years—and it’s true that we’re woefully behind schedule. 

The task ahead isn’t easy, but it’s also not optional. We must halve carbon pollution in the next seven years or face intractable, catastrophic effects of the climate crisis.  

I’ve led Ceres’ work for 20 years because I’m a stubborn optimist; because I know that capital markets and common-sense policy change can turbocharge the transition to a clean energy future. And because I know that we need a plan to get us there.  

That’s why I wrote “7 Years, 7 Actions” which outlines critical steps that can slash greenhouse gas emissions if we act now.
