Dear John,
For 40 years, Family Research Council's mission has been to rebuild the foundations of faith, family, and freedom for our nation. But rebuilding America's spiritual footing requires persistence in the face of opposition.
A biblical example of this kind of tenacity is a theme throughout the book of Nehemiah. (If you haven't already, be sure to visit frc.org/Bible to follow along with FRC's Stand on the Word reading plan, where just yesterday we jumped into Nehemiah.)
When Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem's city wall was in ruins, his first response was to pray. Then he began to plan and then it wasn't long until God opened the door for Nehemiah to go work and lead others in rising to the challenge of rebuilding: "And they said, 'Let us rise up and build.' So they strengthened their hands for the good work" (Nehemiah 2:18, ESV).
God works in many ways, but most often it is through His people - through His followers' faithful, day-to-day work on the tasks set before them.
Our task for America might differ from Nehemiah's, but our daily reliance on God to achieve His purposes is the same - and your faithful partnership strengthens our efforts.
As we approach our critical fiscal year end on June 30 and plan for the next 40 years of influence and impact, would you consider a vital gift to help us rebuild the foundations of faith, family, and freedom for our nation?
We must meet our goal of $4.3 Million in June to continue our critical work. And thanks to generous friends of FRC, your gift will be DOUBLED -- dollar for dollar -- through a limited-time $1 Million Challenge Match.
DOUBLE MY IMPACT
As we build and protect the foundations of America, there will be those that oppose us at every turn.
The radical Left is aggressive in pushing its ideology, especially regarding our children. They declare that they "know better" than us about what our kids need.
President Joe Biden echoed this misconception when he recently quoted a former teacher, saying, "There's no such thing as someone else's child... Our nation's children are all our children."
Biden's remarks reflect the dangerous and misguided policies of the Left in states like Washington, which is performing so-called "gender-affirming care" on minors who run away from home. The legislation not only allows "permissible interventions," including surgeries to permanently alter children's bodies, but it specifically allows the state to hide this information from their parents!
California is considering a bill allowing officials to take temporary custody of a child, even if they live out of state, cutting off the parents' access to a child, in order to pursue gender transition procedures.
The two strongest holdouts against their radical sexual agenda are the family and the church.
FRC's Senior Fellow for Biblical Worldview and Strategic Engagement, Joseph Backholm, warns that hostility toward each of these institutions will likely intensify:
"It isn't just that sexual revolutionaries think parents are a danger to their children, they believe the nuclear family is an obstacle to the utopia that can only exist once everyone thinks and acts just as they do. Until the family has been completely subjugated to the state (which the sexual revolutionaries should control, of course), children can't be happy."
FRC has been working to dismantle the lies of the sexual revolutionaries and protect your family and children.
We've been actively supporting state-level legislation that protects minors from harmful and irreversible gender transition procedures, bills like the SAFE Act (Save Adolescents from Experimentation). A wide variety of these types of bills are moving across the nation (over 100 this year alone), ranging from weak to strong.
FRC will continue to educate and support policymakers who seek justice under the law to protect minors.
John, when our nation's foundations of faith, family, and freedom crumble, our children can fall prey to the enemy's lies. Will you join FRC to strengthen the foundations for our children and families?
Double My Impact for Families
Restoring our nation's spiritual walls is also about strengthening the biblical worldview among believers. After rebuilding Jerusalem's walls, Nehemiah gathered the people together while the priest Ezra read God's law to them.
At FRC, we understand that you cannot rebuild a spiritual wall without the Word of God. That is why we are equipping pastors and all believers to think biblically about today's pressing issues. Through your ongoing support, we are producing resources like:
- Our Biblical Worldview Series of booklets,
- Heroic Faith: Hope Amid Global Persecution book,
- "Now We Live" and "Prepare to Stand" video series,
- Strong & Courageous: A Call to Biblical Manhood book,
- Male and Female He Created Them book,
- Stand on the Word Bible reading plan and devotional materials,
- And much more - including translating publications into Spanish and Chinese to multiply their reach.
Your partnership makes all this possible! FRC receives no government funding. We rely upon the generous support of partners like you.
What Nehemiah did in the physical has application for us today in the spiritual. Together, let's seize this opportunity of rebuilding the spiritual walls of our nation for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the foundation for faith, family, and freedom.
To encourage you to keep standing and to be like those persistent wall builders, you will receive a free digital copy of my new Nehemiah: Rebuilding A Nation study guide when you give a fiscal year end gift of $7 or more.
And remember, thanks to the limited-time Challenge Match, your gift of $7 will be doubled to $14, $50 to $100, or a gift of $250 will double to $500!
Thank you for your prayers and generosity. Your timely gift will advance FRC's mission of rebuilding faith, family, and freedom in families and communities throughout this nation!
