Six Flags Arlington Hosts Explicit Drag Shows Targeting Children

With Gov. Greg Abbott soon to sign legislation banning drag shows targeting children into law, Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington has begun its month-long weekend drag show program targeting children. Soli Rice [[link removed]] has the details.

The highly sexualized drag shows, which Six Flags has labeled as “PG,” are taking place at the Gotham City Stage in the Six Flags Arlington amusement park.

The first weekend of shows featured four cross-dressing men, all of whom have had a history of posting explicit content.

Carlos Turcios, University of Texas at Arlington’s Turning Point USA chapter president, attended the event to determine if it was 18-plus or not. According to Turcios, there were “many kids between the ages of 1-8 present” during the drag performances.

“What was shown was content that was only meant for adults,” Turcios told Texas Scorecard.

The park plans to host drag events every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of June to celebrate Pride month.

LGBT Activities on Military Bases

As Pride month begins to kick off, U.S. Rep. Chip Roy has called on Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to provide a full list of the department resources used to promote LGBTQ activities on military bases.

Emily Wilkerson [[link removed]] reports that the request comes after the Department of the Air Force released a memo in early May stating it will commemorate the contributions of LGBTQ Americans and continue its efforts to “advance a respectful and inclusive culture.”

The memo also encouraged installation commanders to plan and conduct activities to celebrate Pride month. Roy’s office obtained a flyer advertising Pride month events at the Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, where they promoted events like “Pride Night Game Night” and are planning to host a panel discussion.

Roy argues the Department of Defense is funding political statements rather than using taxpayers’ money to advance military readiness.

“Despite plummeting recruitment numbers and pushback from Congress, DoD appears adamant about spending taxpayer dollars to impose this blatantly political agenda on our men and women in uniform,” Roy wrote.

Texas GOP Voters Want Special Session on Banning Chinese Land Ownership

Following the close of Texas’ regular legislative session, a new poll shows that most Texas Republican voters want the governor to address foreign ownership of state land. Katy Marshall [[link removed]] has the story.

A Defend Texas Liberty PAC poll asked Republican voters which issue they believed was the “most important” for legislators to debate during a special session. The poll gave voters four options: school choice, E-Verify for employers, banning Chinese nationals from purchasing land, and prohibiting COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Of the polltakers, 49 percent said preventing Chinese nationals from buying Texas land was the most important issue.

Nineteen percent of the respondents prioritized school choice, while 11 percent selected banning COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Only 9 percent of voters chose mandating E-Verify for employers, with 12 percent saying they were unsure which issue was most important.

During the regular legislative session, the Texas House allowed legislation to ban Chinese nationals from purchasing state land to languish in committee.

State Rep. Lynn Stucky Gets a Challenger

As the 88th Legislative Session ends the campaign season begins, with Wise County Conservative co-founder Andy Hopper announcing his campaign against incumbent State Rep. Lynn Stucky of Sanger.

As Sydnie Henry [[link removed]] reports, Hopper ran against Stucky in 2022 for House District 64, which includes Wise County and a portion of Denton County, and lost the Republican primary election by a mere 88 votes.

Now, Stucky—who received more than $100,000 in campaign donations from House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont) during the last election cycle—spent the recent legislative session supporting Democrats chairing powerful committees in the Texas House, approving resolutions to honor LGBT activists, and impeaching Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Hopper highlighted banning Democrat committee chairmanships, returning surplus taxpayer money to Texans, stopping the border invasion, abolishing property taxes, protecting Texas land from the Chinese Communist Party, and defending Texas from federal overreach as important priorities for Texans.

The Texas Republican primary will be held March 5, 2024.
