Hi team, 

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you a happy Pride Month!

No matter who you are or who you love, no matter how you identify, no matter if you’re out to the world or you haven’t told a single soul — you deserve love, dignity, and acceptance. And you deserve to be celebrated for exactly who you are.

I know that these are difficult times for many of my LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors, and constituents.

It’s deeply unjust that anyone should have to see their basic humanity used as a partisan talking point or their very existence treated as a matter of political debate. In particular, the attacks that transgender Americans are facing — and even more especially trans and gender nonconforming children are facing — are heartbreaking. Nobody should need to conduct a poll before standing up against that kind of oppression.

So to the LGBTQ+ community, let me just say that you deserve better. You deserve the freedom and security to live openly and proudly as exactly who you are. And please know that I’m one of millions of Americans who are standing with you in this fight.
