The House acted—now it's time for the Senate to keep our Paris Climate Agreement commitments!
John,
This week's presidential debates should have included the most pressing issues of our time—yet the moderators asked almost nothing about climate change. We can't afford to wait for answers on this.
In the spring, members of the House of Representatives voted on the first climate change legislation in 10 years, H.R. 9—the Climate Action Now Act, which passed the House with bipartisan approval. With your help, we were able to send over 1,100 emails to your representatives urging them to act on climate— they listened, and now it’s time for the Senate to get on board. [[link removed]]
On June 5, Senator Shaheen of New Hampshire and 45 co-sponsors introduced the Senate version of H.R. 9—the International Climate Accountability Act, which prevents the federal government from using taxpayer resources to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Not surprisingly, Sen. Mitch McConnell has blocked the vote on this popular piece of legislation.
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]
Fight back against climate deniers! With just a click, email your Senators and tell them you want them to act on climate! [[link removed]]
We know that there is no time to waste with addressing the climate crisis. This is our chance to show the world that climate deniers do not represent the will of the people. Let’s take our momentum to the upper chamber and demand our Senators act on climate now!
Take action now! Tell your Senators and Mitch McConnell you want the United States to keep its commitments on climate. [[link removed]]
