Friend,
There have been more mass shootings in the United States in 2023 than there have been days of the year. And every day Congress fails to act, another community is forever changed by gun violence.
Starting on June 6, survivors and gun violence prevention activists will be hosting a sit-in at the U.S. Capitol to demand a vote on banning assault weapons. If you’re able to join for any part of the sit-in, click here.
No one should have to live in fear of gun violence. We deserve to know that our elected lawmakers are listening to us and fighting for our right to live in safe communities without weapons of war on the streets.
It’s time for Congress to act, and to restore the ban on assault weapons. Please join us if you’re able. Click to RSVP.
In unity,
Randi Weingarten
