STICKER SHOCK
I Started The Tooth Fairy At $20 & Boy Did I Mess Up ([link removed])

The thing about parenting is that, at the beginning, you just don’t know what you don’t know. That means you can accidentally commit yourself to something very expensive before you realize what you’re doing. Witness Samm Davidson: “It seemed like a good idea at the time: A fresh, whopping $20 bill from the tooth fairy for my oldest son’s first lost tooth. I’d been dreaming about motherhood for as long as I could remember, and so finally getting to play tooth fairy was a long-awaited moment. Anything less than a $20 just didn’t accurately represent my excitement for this occasion (at the time).”

Well, now she’s got four kids, and today she’s doing some absolutely horrifying math. You’ll get a laugh out of it.

Does the end of the school year feel like running straight into a brick wall for anybody else? Judging from this week’s roundup from the Scary Mommy Confessional, the answer is an enthusiastic “YES.” One readers says, “I have worse Spring Fever than my kids,” while another screams: I’m over all the d*mn “end of year” school activities! For the love of all that is holy - stop!!” And I bet you’re feeling this one: “No, I cannot volunteer for that!” As always, if you’ve got something to share, the link here ([link removed]) .
