John, we want to shout out the Justice Democrats in Congress who opposed the unfair debt limit deal.

This was a bad deal, John. Parts of this bill were clearly designed to benefit corporate giants, ultra-wealthy tax cheats, and increase our already-bloated military funding — all at the expense of working families.

What's so frustrating is that this deal wasn't even necessary. The debt limit itself is clearly unconstitutional; President Biden could have made the case that it violates the 14th amendment.

Or Democrats could have just raised the debt ceiling before they lost control of the House in last year's elections. Instead, they left working people vulnerable to the GOP's nefarious games.

Justice Democrats in Congress stood up, spoke out, and opposed this bad deal, but they were just unable to stop it. This is why our work is so important — the more JDs we have in Congress, the more they can stand strong and united against GOP hostage-taking the next time around.
