Folks, since 2023 began, our nation has suffered more than 260 mass shootings. As a result, over 500 minors have been killed and over 1,300 have been injured.

Even one child murdered from the gun violence epidemic is unfathomable – but tragically, political inaction and the gun lobby have allowed this to become our new normal. Enough is enough.

We cannot let more parents bury their children because of the gun violence epidemic. That's why I vow to always be a vote for commonsense gun safety reforms – because the lives of our loved ones are more important than the deep pockets of the gun lobby.

And, friend, I'm not alone in my call for more commonsense gun safety reforms. Even comprehensive background checks, which have been demonized by the gun lobby for decades, have the support of more than 90% of Americans. That's why I know that we can win the fight for gun safety, but only if we all work together.
