Hey John,

I used to run from the police; now I’m running for office. I’m addressing all the issues within policing and the criminal justice system which often lead those who look like me to feel like we must run from the police.  

I am fighting for true criminal justice. Right now we have a dual system that sends people of color (mostly black men) down a path from which it is virtually guaranteed they will never escape. We have to break down this unjust system and build a new one that doesn’t oppress people of color. 

This is only one of the many forms of injustice our campaign is fighting against, and it’s why we need your support. There are just a few short weeks before the primary election here in IL-07, so we don’t have much time to reach voters, and we need you on our team now, more than ever.     

Can we count on you to dig deep this week as we ramp up our Get out the Vote efforts? A contribution of $10, $25 or even $50 will help us purchase campaign literature and other critical supplies needed in these final weeks.
