Don’t look now, but Fox News is in serious trouble.

In April, Fox News was forced to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems, the first of several likely settlements Fox is facing due to the lies it spread during and after the 2020 election.

And now Fox just got even more bad news, as the network’s ratings took a major nosedive in May, falling by 37% compared to last May and a whopping 62% in the all-important 25-to-54-year-old demographic.

All of this is happening at the worst possible time for Fox, as the network is desperately trying to renegotiate the fees that cable companies like Comcast, Cox, and Spectrum pay to carry Fox News so they can cover the costs of their huge defamation settlements.

But if cable subscribers demand that the cable companies refuse the higher fee, Fox News could be forced to face real consequences for its disinformation.

That’s why Inequality Media is mobilizing our millions of followers across social media to tell their cable company: “Don’t let Fox News raise my cable bill. Say no to increasing the Fox Fee!”

Fox News has already bullied cable companies into paying disproportionately high fees by talking about their negotiations on air and scaring Fox viewers into calling their cable providers directly. Some analysts estimate that Fox is already overcharging the cable companies by 2 or 3 times its market value.

These inflated carriage fees have become increasingly critical to Fox’s business model, due to a growing advertiser boycott in protest of the network’s lies, racism, and anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry.

If Fox is able to push through these even higher fees, it will increase your cable bill, even if you never watch Fox News.

But there are far more people who don’t watch Fox News than who do, and that’s why we have leverage right now to block the increased Fox Fee and potentially take down Fox News for good.
