We can stand idly by while our children endure this trauma
Friend,
Here are three facts about the impact of America’s gun violence epidemic on children:
In 2022 alone, a staggering 273 individuals died or were wounded in 303 gun-related incidents on school grounds, setting record highs that cannot be ignored.
Firearms have become the leading cause of death for U.S. children and teens, accounting for nearly 19% of childhood fatalities in 2021, as confirmed by the CDC.
Disturbingly, gun-related incidents outside the classroom, including suicides and murders, have also soared to unprecedented levels.
This crisis demands urgent attention — since 2018 over 1,000 firearm incidents have taken place in educational institutions.
Dem AGs aren’t offering empty platitudes or “thoughts and prayers.” They are advocating for common sense gun safety laws that are proven to make a difference. Colorado AG Phil Weiser helped draft legislation to expand his state’s red flag laws. Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum lobbied hard for gun control measures in her state’s legislature. And Washington AG Bob Ferguson helped pass an assault weapons ban in his state that he has been championing for six years.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
