Mike embodies the characteristics of a New Politics candidate: he’s a committed leader who doesn’t shy away from the tough fights to serve his community.

In the State Senate, Mike was the first Senator to get bipartisan support for Colorado’s version of the DREAM Act. After deadly shootings in Columbine and Aurora, Mike challenged the NRA and won, banning assault-style weapons and requiring universal background checks in Colorado. Mike has spent his career finding solutions for Coloradans, and he’s ready to take his work to city hall in Denver.
