Team, I’ve learned that one of the biggest mistakes a campaign can make is focusing too much on the headlines and not focusing enough on the nuts and bolts of actually winning an election.

In other words, missing the forest for the trees.

This early in an election cycle, things like finance reports, budgetary decisions, and strategy plans will set the course of this campaign without ever making the headlines.
