On June 5 -- 65 Roses Day -- we tell the 65 Roses story and celebrate the resiliency, determination, and heart of the cystic fibrosis community. Although we have made a lot of progress in combatting CF, on this 65 Roses Day, we also recognize our work will not be finished until there is a cure for every person with this disease.

At 26 years old, Carrie Giddens was on life support awaiting a double lung transplant. Her twin boys, who were born via IVF and surrogacy, were 15 months old at the time. After weeks of uncertainty, that November, she received a life-saving transplant. When we met her for the first time in 2016, she was four years post-transplant.

A lot has changed for the Giddens family in the past 7 years. In 2017, they added a daughter to their family through adoption. In addition, in 2022 Carrie celebrated her 10-year transplant anniversary.

On 65 Roses Day, you can help more people with cystic fibrosis live longer, healthier lives.
