We’ll be blunt: National security AND abortion access are under siege right now. If you’ve got a minute, let us explain.

Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is holding up nearly 200 Military promotions. These are generals and flag officers — critical, senior leaders. All over a Pentagon policy that covers travel costs for service members who have to leave states like Alabama to have an abortion.

Most people thought Tuberville would let this go, but he hasn’t. And every day he continues is a day that Republicans grow bolder. We all know their goal is to ban abortion entirely.

But now they’re threatening our national defense by delaying these promotions. And worse, their efforts to deny our women Servicemembers critical health care undermines Military readiness. That puts us all at risk.

If the GOP gets a majority in the Senate, there’s no telling just how extreme they’ll be in attacking our Military and our abortion rights. Remember: Our Democratic majority comes down to just ONE SEAT.

And, we’re on defense in every competitive race in the country next year. There is no margin for error.
