Dear A.,

Countless Israeli lives were saved during last month’s Gaza conflict because our work with Congress helped ensure the Jewish state had the resources it needed to defend itself.

Yet with every threat confronting Israel growing more severe, Israel requires increased American support to help protect its citizens.

But American support for Israel is not inevitable; it requires our community to consistently engage with our elected officials to ensure specific pro-Israel policies are enacted into law.

AIPAC is actively lobbying Congress on bipartisan pro-Israel legislation to help keep Israel safe and ensure the two allies build upon their alliance.

You have a central role to play.

We are launching a Summer Policy Blitz to significantly increase congressional support for important pro-Israel legislation.

Over the coming weeks, you will receive a series of Action Alerts to contact Hill offices on specific pro-Israel policies. Each Action Alert takes 45 seconds to complete and sends a powerful message to Hill offices about the policies our community, and their constituents, want to see enacted.

We are focusing our policy blitz on four critical arenas:

Israel relies on vital security assistance from the United States to help protect its citizens and keep the country safe. As Congress advances its appropriations bills, we are asking it to include the full $3.3 billion in security assistance to Israel, without added political conditions, and $500 million for missile defense technology.

We are also asking Congress to invest $50 million per year in new programs to ensure America and Israel are working together now to address emerging threats that will define the future of warfare.

Iran poses the greatest threat to Israel, and the regime is closer than ever to acquiring nuclear weapons that could threaten the Jewish state’s very existence. We are asking members of Congress to make clear to Iran the consequences if it continues to expand its nuclear program.

We are also asking Congress to strengthen sanctions on Iran’s illicit oil exports, including to China, as well as sanctions on Iran’s ballistic missile program, as U.N. restrictions are set to expire in October.

The Abraham Accords have transformed Israel’s relationships with its neighbors, helping foster a new era of peace, prosperity and partnership. We are encouraging Congress to build upon the Abraham Accords by supporting increased cooperation and closer ties between Israel and its Arab neighbors.

AIPAC is consistently working with Congress to forge new opportunities for the United States and Israel to strengthen their partnership. Israel’s potential acceptance into the Visa Waiver Program will facilitate faster and more efficient travel and business between the two allies. This is closer than ever to happening, but there are some in Congress who are trying to stop progress. We will be asking Congress to redouble its support for Israel’s acceptance into this program by the deadline of September 30.

Your support of these initiatives is critical to their success and to helping keep Israel safe, and I encourage you to share these opportunities to contact Congress with your friends and family.
