Hi –

Some pundits say voters don't care about climate change. I disagree. Arizona is ground zero when it comes to the climate crisis, and that is one of the main reasons I'm running for Congress. This week’s news shows the impact is already affecting people’s daily lives. I hope you’ll let me explain, but if you’re already with me, join the fight.

Arizona’s announcement that, due to climate change and drought, there is not enough water supply for even the housing construction that has already been approved made national news.

==== The New York Times: "Arizona Limits Construction Around Phoenix as Its Water Supply Dwindles" ====

With climate change limiting future housing development, the affordability crisis will only worsen. This makes it painfully clear: The climate and affordability crises are inexorably linked.

The Phoenix area already doesn’t have the housing supply to meet the demand of tens of thousands of people who are here or moving here. Mortgage and rent prices have skyrocketed over the past years. This announcement means the challenge will grow even worse – teachers, firefighters, construction workers, and police officers will be priced out of being able to afford to live here with their families. Evictions, already up double digits, will continue to increase.

Because of falling water levels and rising temperatures, there may be no place in America where the climate crisis is a more clear and present danger. My opponent in this campaign sees the world differently. Congressman David Schweikert calls climate change “folklore,” says “the green mafia basically owns the Democrat Party,” and cares more about keeping Big Oil happy than protecting the pocketbooks of Arizonans.

This month we’re counting down to the all-important June 30 FEC reporting deadline. We have 26 days to go. The amount of financial support we can show by then will shape the rest of our campaign.

That’s why I’m asking: Will you chip in $33, $330, or more to my campaign today? We’re less than a month away from that first FEC deadline – we must post strong results on our first report to show pundits, reporters, and potential backers we have what it takes to win.

Wishing you all the best,
