Every year, concerned people like us come together on Gun Violence Awareness Day to demand an end to the gun violence epidemic. This year, it felt like we were reaching a turning point in the fight to stop this crisis, advance real solutions, and protect our communities from senseless violence. Here’s why: 

More Americans are being impacted by gun violence every day, and no one is immune. In schools and banks, grocery stores and malls, Americans are forced every day to contend with the reality that the next mass shooting could happen in any place and in any state. At the same time, a growing chorus of voices is speaking out to demand action and save lives. 

But here’s the situation: Republicans in power are still voting NO. GOP controlled states are blocking gun laws and passing laws that instead expand access to firearms. So, to stop the gun violence epidemic, we must replace them and their excuses with Emerge women – moms, teachers, neighbors – who are ready to make real change and put our communities first. 

The movement to end this deadly epidemic is growing stronger by the day, but we still need to know that you’re with us, John. That’s why we need your response on our community poll before the deadline at midnight tonight. We’re still 153 responses short of our goal, so please tell us now:
