In a huge victory for democracy, Floridians recently voted to restore formerly incarcerated individuals their constitutional right to vote. But now, right-wing extremists are subverting the will of the people by requiring these folks to pay off all fines and fees related to their convictions before this right is restored.

Make no mistake about it: This new GOP law is a thinly disguised poll tax – plain and simple.

We cannot stay silent in the face of this extremist effort to disenfranchise millions in Florida by turning the right to vote into an exclusive privilege for those who can afford it. With so much at stake, I need you to let me know right now:
