We have a DACA update for you, friend:
On Thursday, Judge Andrew Hanen — a right-wing judge in Texas — held a widely anticipated oral argument on DACA. Now that the hearing is complete, he can rule at any point in this case that could determine the future of DACA.
We need to prepare for the worst case scenario, team, which is why we’re demanding President Biden and Congress work together to deliver citizenship for DACA recipients and all undocumented people.
Rush in a $10 donation to help UWDA fight for permanent protections before it’s too late. Judge Hanen could rule against DACA any day now.
Judge Hanen is the reason DACA is closed to new applicants. His 2021 ruling against DACA has prevented immigrant youth from applying to DACA for the first time.
Even though current recipients can continue to renew their DACA status, that may not be true for much longer as courts like Judge Hanen’s threaten the future of the program for everyone.
We’re no strangers to attacks on DACA. When Trump tried to illegally end DACA, we fought back and went all the way to the Supreme Court to defend it.
But at the end of the day, DACA is still a temporary solution. We need more. We deserve more.
UWDA is leading the fight for permanent protections — for DACA recipients and all undocumented people — because we are here to stay, regardless of what anti-immigrant leaders like Judge Hanen have to say.
As we scale up our advocacy work to win our demands in Congress and pressure the Biden administration to deliver on its promises, we are counting on support from grassroots allies like you, friend.
Rush a donation to support United We Dream Action’s fight for DACA recipients and all undocumented people. We need to secure a pathway to citizenship before it’s too late.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Juliana, United We Dream Action
