DEAR FRIENDS,
Yesterday we sent out an email regarding Tippah County holding a cockfight in the evening. Many of you called the Tippah County Sheriff’s Department, and for that we are so grateful that you did!
Unfortunately, the Sheriff’s Department did NOTHING and the cockfight continued! Tippah County Sheriff Karl Gaillard is every bit as corrupt as Sheriff Jim Johnson in neighboring Lee County. A number of you told us that you had pleasant conversations with people in the sheriff's office, but that was merely to placate. They figure that if they act friendly, you'll stand down. Meanwhile, animals with razor sharp weapons tied on them, continue to be forced to fight and die.
These sheriffs are corrupt and corruption doesn’t change overnight. The only way to stop Sheriff Karl Gaillard's reign of corruption is to remove him from office, and prefferrably replace his sheriff's uniform with that of a federal prisoner.
So why call the sheriff at all? The enormously important reason is that we are making a very public record of Sheriff Karl Gaillard's corruption! Which is what needs to happen in these cases. This is just one step in the process of ending animal cruelties across the county.
SHARK and you, our invaluable supporters, must never weary of exposing corrupt police in Mississippi and anywhere else. We are the hot, bright light that destroys the toxic mold that is corruption. Thank you again for calling for the animals. Please don’t feel like nothing is happening. It not only helps our animal friends, but it also helps good cops who want and deserve our support, like Delaware Animal Services Captain Philip Dixon, who is currently putting a case together against cockfightings from an event SHARK exposed a few weeks ago.
We need you, the animals need you, and good police trying to do the right thing need you. Never give in to cruelty and corruption, and know that in the end, we will win for nonhumans everywhere!
