Folks, the hard truth is that in Senate races like ours, whoever spends the most money usually — but not always — wins.

This won’t be the last time we see a headline like this, because unlike my opponent, I’m not a millionaire. Instead, we’re building a grassroots campaign and asking supporters to chip in what they can, when they can.

Will you help fuel our campaign by chipping in a grassroots donation of $25 (or whatever you can) to help counter campaign spending by my ultra-wealthy opponent? Any amount goes a long way when enough supporters step up.

This is going to be a tough race, and there’s too much at stake to let money be the reason we come up short.

My opponent can write his campaign blank checks to flood the airwaves with TV commercials to spread his message far and wide.

Those are things we need to do to reach voters, too — but the question on everyone’s mind is whether or not we can raise enough money through grassroots support to avoid getting drowned out.
