Dear Friend,

In this week's roundup: Pushing back on the Chinese Communist Party, supporting our small businesses, and holding Brazil and Mexico accountable for their unfair trade practices. LEADING THE PUSHBACK ON THE CCP

President Biden’s weak leadership and poor foreign policy have emboldened China to advance its communist agenda worldwide.

Where Biden failed, I’m taking the lead by passing legislation to ban China from buying American farmland suitable for ethanol and biodiesel production.

A few weeks ago, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Lower Energy Costs Act, which included my widely supported amendment — the Defend America’s Rural Energy Act to keep China away from our farmland and defend Iowa's farmers and biofuels producers.
Letter: Congressman Feenstra stands up to China

China poses one of the greatest threats to our national, economic, energy and food security. From their illegal balloon deployment in our sovereign airspace to their increased efforts to purchase American farmland, China will stop at nothing to...

WORKING FOR MAIN STREET BUSINESSES

Small businesses are struggling in Biden's economy. Inflation remains at record highs and burdensome compliance costs continue to squeeze already thin profit margins. Our small businesses deserve a tax code that supports their growth, incentivizes new hires, and keeps their costs low.

Read more about how I’m working to reauthorize and expand vital tax provisions that will power and grow our main street economy.
Republicans will deliver tax relief for small businesses

Small businesses are struggling in the Biden economy. Inflation remains at record highs thanks to trillions in wasteful spending, labor shortages persist due to taxpayer-funded handouts that reward welfare over work, and burdensome compliance...

WORKING TO END BRAZIL'S TARIFFS ON OUR FARMERS AND ETHANOL PRODUCERS

I’m proud to work with my friend and Ways and Means colleague, Representative Darin LaHood from Illinois, to hold Brazil accountable for its unfair and costly tariffs on 4th District farmers and ethanol producers.

The Biden Administration needs to get its act together and defend our family farmers and rural economy.

PROTECTING IOWA'S AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY

On my Feenstra Agriculture Tour, I have met with 4th District farmers and producers to collect their thoughts and suggestions for the upcoming Farm Bill. During my meetings, the top priority for our agriculture community is maintaining and strengthening crop insurance protections.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: PROTECTING IOWA CORN GROWERS FROM MEXICO'S BASELESS ATTACKS

On July 1, 2020, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) – which was signed into law nearly two years earlier – entered into force, formally replacing the North American Free Trade American (NAFTA).

Regrettably, Mexico has failed to honor its commitments in the USMCA. In 2020, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador proposed a total ban on biotech corn by 2025, leveling unfounded accusations about the safety of genetically modified food.

In response to these unfounded attacks, I joined over sixty of my Republican colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden demanding that he hold Mexico accountable for its reckless attacks on American corn growers and our rural economy. I am proud to say – just a day after sending our letter – the Biden Administration finally requested a formal trade dispute, which is well within our rights as outlined in the USMCA.
