It takes a moment to give, but the difference you’ll make can last a lifetime!
Friend:
I appreciate you reading a Saturday message from The Trevor Project! I’m also following up on Amanda’s email from yesterday (I copied it below) — and to ask you to make your Pride 2023 gift to Trevor. ([link removed])
Amanda explains why affirming communities can be life-saving for LGBTQ young people. And youth who lack support from the people in their lives may depend on Trevor’s 24/7/365 suicide prevention and crisis intervention services. We need your support to provide these very services.
Let’s show LGBTQ young people that we’re here for them. Make your gift today ([link removed]) .
With gratitude and in community,
JB

Hi
Friend of Trevor,
------------------------------------------------------------
“Stories of Pride — The Power of Us” is The Trevor Project’s theme for Pride this month. The “Us” is you, me, and every compassionate ally uniting to create and connect LGBTQ young people with communities that support them.
We are celebrating communities this Pride season because they can be life-saving. According to our research, LGBTQ young people are less likely to attempt suicide if they live in a supportive environment.
For LGBTQ young people who feel alone as they navigate their dark moments, Trevor’s trained crisis counselors will only be a call, chat, or text away 24/7/365 — listening with compassion and communicating with empathy.
To be here for LGBTQ young people in crisis, Trevor depends on people who decide with compassion to support our mission. Be one of those kind folks today by making your first gift. ([link removed])
Today’s anti-LGBTQ backlash is taking a toll on many of the young people reaching out to Trevor. They’ve shared the pain of knowing that the people elected to protect them instead use their position and influence to harm them and their families.
They're seeing the introduction of bills that could criminalize doctors who provide best-practice medical care, subject parents and caregivers to child abuse investigations, and censor LGBTQ-related curricula. They fear what could happen if they become law.
MAKE A LIFE-SAVING GIFT ([link removed])
Our findings support these individual stories: nearly 2 in 3 LGBTQ young people said that hearing about potential laws banning people from discussing LGBTQ people at school made their mental health a lot worse.
But with your thoughtful gift, our trained crisis counselors will be available to help 24/7/365. ([link removed]) That’s the “power of us” — and your generosity!
When we asked Alex what it means to receive support and affirmation from his community, he said:

Friend,
I know you want every LGBTQ young person to have the support they need to thrive — during Pride and every day. Transform your belief into action with your first loving, life-saving gift to Trevor. ([link removed]) Every dollar counts, so please be as generous as you can. Thank you!
With pride and in community,

P.S. We’ll be sharing more stories from LGBTQ young people like Alex all month long. Please support them by making your gift today. ([link removed])
