Hi
John,
BCAction’s favorite art event – Drawing the Connections – is coming up Tuesday, June 13!

We’ll come together at our Virtual Community Gathering on that date, and we’ll have available our curated collection of values-aligned art at our art auction, opening next week, June 8th!

Here are some of my personal staff picks that will be available starting next week – each submitted to the auction by BCAction staff members themselves!

Not only are my team members breast cancer activists – they are each talented artists! See the pieces below and [link removed] for the virtual event today.

Zoë Christopher – “Queen” 8x10 photograph printed on archival paper

As a member of the BCAction team for 16 years, Zoë Christopher holds the role of Program Officer and Operations Manager – and she is also a member of the Bay Area’s community of artists!

Zoë is a poet and writer who loves her Bay Area literary community, but her love of San Francisco is best expressed as a street photographer.

Heather Stone – “Missing Magritte: OLYMPIA” Multimedia Paper Collage

Their mixed media woven collage diptych is made from magazines, origami paper, and metallic foil, and features the image “Olympia” by René Magritte.

Katy Simon – “Red Rocks Necklace”

BCAction’s Development and Fundraising Assistant Katy Simon has donated her handcrafted "Red Rocks Necklace," a quartz, chain, and bead necklace inspired by the Arizona desert.

Katy is a crafter and writer from Phoenix, Arizona. She is inspired by the red mountains that surrounded her while growing up, and by the beauty of the desert. She loves making art for her loved ones and organizing art exchanges for fellow crafters. She believes in the healing power of creating and that it is the best way to connect with ourselves and others.

Tickets to Drawing the Connections are free and donation-based, get yours today! ([link removed])

Haleemah Atobiloye – “Ronke, Tinu, and Anu” Headwraps

Program Manager Haleemah Atobiloye is donating three pieces of beautiful wearable art to the Drawing the Connections art auction – in the form of headwraps! She has created these from 100% cotton, high-quality African print fabrics.

Haleemah is a social scientist with a deep interest in exploring how storytelling techniques can bring about social change. She’s a self-diagnosed music junkie and when she can, she creates wearable art pieces for womxn.
