and what we need to do to level the ethical playing field

Whitehouse for Senate

It’s been a busy couple months in my long effort to bring more transparency and accountability to the Supreme Court, team.

First, there was the initial story that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepted extravagant vacations and gifts from Republican mega-donor Harlan Crow and didn’t disclose them.

Then, news broke that Justice Thomas had not disclosed sale of his properties to Crow, even though justices are required by law to disclose real estate transactions.

And there was the news that Leonard Leo – the shadowy figure at the center of the scheme to capture the Supreme Court – paid Justice Thomas’ wife Ginni tens of thousands of dollars, and purposefully left her name off the paperwork.

There’s a lot of work to be done to fix this. My effort to create an enforceable code of ethics for the Supreme Court justices is far from over. Will you stand with me in this fight and contribute to my campaign so I can continue my work in the Senate?

My SCERT Act would make a world of difference for the Supreme Court and Americans’ faith in the institution. The bill would ensure that the highest court in our country finally has a transparent process for investigating possible ethics violations like the ones we’ve recently learned about.

But to keep up this long fight in the Senate, I rely on grassroots support. Chip in just $5 today to support my work >>

Thank you,

Sheldon Whitehouse
