 John, On Thursday, I went to my first Pride event of the month and now, I am reaching out to share the importance of this month to me. Pride is a time to acknowledge the obstacles our LGBTQ+ heroes have overcome in the face of adversity and prejudice, and to celebrate their triumphs and contributions to our communities. This month is also a moment for us to affirm our commitment towards justice and equality for all. The inherent dignity and worth of our trans neighbors are under attack in Texas and across the country. We all deserve the freedom to achieve the best and truest version of ourselves – so we must stand against bigotry, hate, and intolerance. Please join me in celebrating with our LGBTQ+ neighbors this month and continue to stand with me against oppression and discrimination every day.
