Recently released text and email messages from former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant have exposed the deep-rooted corruption within the state’s Republican leadership.
Over $77 million in welfare funds meant to aid the state's poorest individuals were allegedly misspent. Nonprofit organizations, including one run by one of Phil Bryant’s allies, used the funds for projects like the $5 million volleyball facility. This level of corruption is shocking in any context, and it’s equally shocking that Republican AG Lynn Fitch has largely remained silent on the issue.
It’s clear, Mississippi needs an AG with strong values and drive to protect the state’s most vulnerable. Fitch is responsible for driving the Dobbs case to the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade and federal protections for abortion access. And she joined MAGA-supporting GOP AGs in the lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 election.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
