Dear john,

Thursday marked the start of a new month, and more importantly, the start of National Gun Violence Awareness Month. I wear orange this month for my son Jordan. I wear orange because there have already been more shootings than days this year. I wear orange on behalf of all those who can no longer speak for themselves. We all must find the courage to act to end gun violence.

On Memorial Day, I was honored to join leaders in Gwinnett County at the Fallen Heroes Memorial and pay tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Those who died in service to America lived out the highest ideals that this nation represents to people across the globe. All year long, may we continue to honor the values and the principles which guided the paths of these noble men and women.

This week, I returned to Washington to vote to raise the debt ceiling. We have an enduring responsibility to maintain the full faith and credit of the United States of America. The hard working men and women of America have spent generations building an economy that sits at the center of our world, and we must not risk the sweat of American families, or the trust of our allies abroad.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. It is my honor to serve our community in Congress. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with my office.
