# [#]First, I want to thank you for your incredible support during our end-of-month fundraising drive.

Fighting MAGA extremism and taking back the House in 2024 won’t be easy, but with your steadfast dedication to our shared values, I’m confident that we can overcome any challenges we face along the way.

I’ll continue working to lower costs of healthcare and prescription drugs, deliver bold climate action, provide economic relief for families, and more.

And, as part of my ongoing commitment to protecting our communities, today I’ll be wearing orange in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day and to kick off Wear Orange Weekend. From June 2nd to June 4th, Americans across the country will be wearing orange to honor the countless lives lost to gun violence – and to recommit ourselves to fighting for a future free from gun violence.

Every day, gun violence devastates communities across the country. It threatens Americans in places where we should all feel safe, like houses of worship, schools and movie theaters.

Unless we act now, these senseless acts of violence will continue to rip our communities – and our nation – apart. Now more than ever, Congress must find the courage to act. We can’t let the gun lobby or gutless Republicans stand in our way. Not when the lives of our children are at stake.

But, progress is possible. Earlier this year, I co-sponsored legislation to ban assault weapons, and it’s time to finish the job. With a Republican majority in the House, Congress needs to know that you’re with me in this fight. We’re asking voters to weigh in on this topic so we can prove that a majority of Americans support a ban on assault weapons. Do you support a ban on assault weapons? The time is now – let’s finally take action to protect our communities.

Since the beginning of my time in Congress, I’ve championed gun violence prevention measures. I will always vote to protect our families from gun violence – whether it be by passing stricter background checks or banning bump stocks, high-capacity magazines, ghost guns, and weapons of war that have no place in our communities.

Thank you for being in this fight with me,

Scott
