Governor DeWine, First Lady Fran DeWine, and Lt. Governor Husted attended the?celebration of the 60th anniversary of Donatos Pizza. The event also celebrated the company's founder, Jim Grote.

In response to a request for assistance from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Governor DeWine authorized a contingent from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) to respond to Texas to assist local law enforcement with border surveillance.?
A total of 14 OSHP troopers and supervisors will travel to Texas in coming weeks. During this two-week assignment, the OSHP will not be tasked with making arrests.
This is the second group of troopers to respond to support Texas law enforcement in nearly two years. Governor DeWine previously authorized OSHP troopers to respond to Texas in?July 2021 [ [link removed] ].?

Governor DeWine announced that a nationwide search for the next general manager of the Ohio Expo Center & Ohio State Fair is now underway.?During a joint news conference, Virgil Strickler, who has served as the Expo Center and State Fair?s general manager since 2004, announced that he will retire around the end of the year.?
?With Virgil?s departure, we will have some big boots to fill,? said Governor DeWine. ?I?ve had the pleasure of working with Virgil for many years and wish him nothing but the best as he begins his retirement.?
Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mary Mertz, who also serves as a member of the Ohio Expositions Commission, will chair the committee responsible for identifying candidates for the general manager position.

Lt. Governor Husted toured DNC Hydraulics in Rawson to learn about their use of TechCred and their partnership with Millstream Career Center. DNC Hydraulics has become one of the most prominent hydraulic component rebuilders in the Midwest and has received more than $77,000 in reimbursement through TechCred to upskill their employees. They have also hired nine students full-time from Millstream Career Center. Lt. Governor Husted had the opportunity to interact with employees and speak with the owner, Dave Conaway, who began the company in 1991 in their garage.

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Transportation Director Jack Marchbanks announced today that the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will dedicate nearly $28 million to support local projects to repair, replace, or demolish 24 aging bridges in Ohio.
