On Friday, we saw the first presidential debate question about child poverty in 20 years, and it's all because of child advocates just like you. As the final question in the Democratic debate in New Hampshire, ABC's George Stephanopoulos asked every candidate on stage to respond to this question:

"According to the Children's Defense Fund, it's been more than 20 years since child poverty was directly addressed in a presidential debate... Today, nearly 1 in 5 American preschoolers are still living below the poverty line, even though we've had ten straight years of economic growth. What does that say to you about where America is today and what we need to do about it?"
