The ongoing border crisis facing our nation has turned every state into a
border state. Virginia will do its part to assist Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s
efforts with the coordinated deployment of National Guard soldiers to assist in
securing our southern border, reduce the flow of fentanyl, combat human
trafficking, and address the humanitarian crisis. Five Virginians die every day
from fentanyl, and it’s coming to Virginia across the southern border. Governor
Youngkin’s leadership will help keep Virginia safe.

Last week, Governor Youngkin paid tribute to the hundreds of thousands of
brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom at Virginia’s
War Memorial. Since the founding of our nation, Virginians have answered the
call of duty to defend her. These selfless men and women fought on land, on the
sea, and in the air, risking their own lives, and we remember the lives lost in
this brave pursuit. Governor Youngkin asked all Virginians to remember their
courage, their devotion, and above all, their sacrifice for the precious gift
they have given us.
