Dear Members and Associates,
Our Housing Justice Committee continues to be one of our most active and promising committees. We formed Housing Justice Duluth, and we are teaming with other organizations in our effort to make sure everyone has a home.
Housing Justice Duluth meets bi-weekly every other Monday (opposite from Council meetings) at 6:30 pm, in the kitchen classroom of the Damiano Center (use the 2nd Ave W. door and ring the bell).

Now is the time to gather in solidarity. Join us today and tomorrow in direct actions to stand up for affordable housing!
- Today at 7:00 in City Council Chambers (3rd Floor) John will be speaking against Essentia's plans to demolish affordable housing during public comments . Please join in support. And sign up to speak yourself if you feel inspired!
- Tomorrow at 5:00 in Council Chambers (3rd floor of City Hall) the Planning Commission will be voting to allow 40 more units of affordable housing to be taken up as vacation rentals and out of the housing market for local families. The vacation rental limit is at 60, and will be pushed up to 100 with a 10% increase each year after. Join in to help save 40 units of housing for families. (Just a heads up that we'll have to sit through a few agenda items before this one is up.)
Please email back if you can make one or both events. We would love to see you there!
