📋 Stop Cop City Canvassing 📋
|
Join Atlanta DSA this Sunday at noon as we campaign to pressure the City of Atlanta to vote NO on Cop City and invest the $31+ million in community not cops! We're reaching out to Atlanta residents who live near the proposed Cop City construction site in order to discuss how they feel about the project, and to inform them about the upcoming City Council vote planned for June 5th.
We're meeting up in the park behind Frederick Wilson Benteen Elementary School. Make sure to download the free MiniVAN canvassing app ahead of time. No experience needed. This event will happen rain or shine, so please bring an umbrella and raincoat in case of rain.

✊ DSA Stands with Solidarity Fund Organizers ✊
|
This past Wednesday, three organizers with the Atlanta Solidarity Fund were arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on charges of “money laundering” and “charity fraud” in an apparent effort to develop a RICO-like case against the Stop Cop City protest movement. These charges against civil rights organizers represent yet another scare tactic and unwarranted escalation by the same elite forces conspiring to build Cop City. Atlanta DSA stands with the defendents and calls for the immediate release of the arrested organizers with all charges dropped.

Atlanta DSA's Book Club explores a range of topics in socialist theory. We discuss big picture ideas about history, economics, and politics. Our next meeting is Thursday June 15th at 7PM, where we're reading Prisoners of the American Dream by Mike Davis. We encourage everyone to read ahead of time, but all are welcome to join the discussion!

📝 Fill Out the 2023 Labor Survey 📝
|
At the 2022 Atlanta DSA Chapter Convention, members decided to prioritize our Chapter's labor work. We are building the labor movement by showing up for workers on the picket line, building relationships with rank-and-file union members, and helping our own members organize their workplaces.
But to do this, we need your help! Fill out our 2023 Labor Survey to tell us about yourself, your workplace, and the ways you'd like to help get involved in our work.
