John,

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for your ongoing support of our campaign. I’ve been so humbled by the energy and enthusiasm of this community. When we succeed in keeping CA-47 blue, I know we’ll point back to your early support as a major factor in our win.

I also wanted to make sure you’re up-to-date on what we’ve been up to over the past few weeks. May was jam-packed with events, meet and greets, and rallies. Below are some photos from the campaign trail.

Again, thank you so much for your involvement in our campaign. Your support means the world to me and everyone here at HQ.

In unity,

Joanna

I’d like to extend a special thank you to the Laguna Beach Democratic Club for welcoming me to their meeting earlier this week. I got the opportunity to share more about my campaign, and we had a good discussion about what’s at stake in 2024 -- for reproductive rights, Social Security, and our environment.

The entire team had an amazing time at the California Democratic Party’s Convention this past weekend. I reconnected with some friends and was proud to show support at the Unions Strike Back rally. I also had informative conversations with members of the CDP’s women’s, environmental, and veterans’ caucuses.

Earlier in the month, we had the opportunity to tour the California Field Iron Worker training facility in La Palma. We learned about their apprentice program, which provides people with opportunities to train in a trade while earning a livable wage and health benefits. I look forward to supporting these kinds of programs in Congress!

I was proud to attend and give remarks at a Pride event in Huntington Beach. It was inspiring to see so many community members come together and stand for inclusion and equality -- especially given the recent spike in anti-LGBTQ actions we’ve seen locally.

I took a trip to Washington, DC for the EMILY’s List Gala honoring Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. It was an incredible event, and I met so many passionate women who were recently elected to Congress. I left more motivated than ever to take back the House in 2024!

It was an eventful month, and I’m excited for what’s ahead of us. I look forward to meeting more voters and learning how I can best represent our community in Congress.

This month, we have a huge challenge ahead of us. At the end of June, our campaign is legally required to report our fundraising numbers to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). How much we raise will send a big signal about the strength of our campaign, so we’re going to be all hands on deck.

If you’d like to chip in $3 now to give us a head start on our FEC fundraising goal, it would go a very long way.

Let’s keep up the great work!

Joanna
