John,
This past Thursday, our members and us mobilized in Albany to lobby for the passage of the New York for All Act, demanding officials allow all New Yorkers to live open lives without the fear of law enforcement colluding with ICE and threatening the stability of their families. With one week to go in our legislative session, can you contact your elected official and demand they pass #NY4All?
We held a press conference on the Million Dollar Staircase, where elected officials, community leaders, and impacted people spoke of the need for this bill. We gave our elected representatives traffic tickets with orders of deportation on them, showing them why many immigrants often fear interactions with law enforcement, government agencies, schools, or hospitals. To wrap up our day, we held a community speakout where we shared personal stories and marched around the capital demanding the passage of this bill.
Our members showed up from all over the state to support our campaign for all families to live without fear of deportation or separation, regardless of immigration status. With only a few days left for NY4All to be passed, we need your help to get to the finish line.
