It’s Brian, activist and founder of Stop Gun Violence PAC. I’m emailing you today on National Gun Violence Awareness Day and the start of Gun Violence Awareness Month.

Today also marks the start of Wear Orange Weekend (June 2 - June 4), where we wear the color orange in honor of the many lives lost to gun violence and all those affected by the continued threat of gun violence in our communities.

We’ve seen that no one in this country is immune to gun violence – tragedies strike in all forms and all places, even in our schools and movie theaters, John.

Every day in the United States, 120 Americans die from gun violence.

This continued epidemic is hitting our children the hardest, John. Firearms recently became one of the number one causes of death for children and teens in the United States.

We must do better for our generation and the next. I’m wearing orange today for all those impacted by gun violence.
