I wanted to say thank you. Everyone who contributed to our campaign ahead of our May fundraising deadline was crucial to our team hitting our goal.
As we prepare for another competitive race next year, consistently hitting our fundraising benchmarks is so important. Every bit of support we get will make a difference, so thanks for helping to power our campaign.
Today, we’re marking National Gun Violence Awareness Day. This is an important opportunity for us to remember those we’ve lost to unnecessary gun violence across our country, and to commit to a safer future by passing meaningful, common-sense gun safety legislation.
In the last legislative session, I’m proud to have helped pass a bipartisan gun safety law that closes critical loopholes—like the one that allowed convicted domestic violence offenders to purchase weapons. I trust responsible gun owners, but these common-sense measures are something all of us can get behind so that we don't have to be afraid to send our kids to school, go to a concert, or even visit our place of worship.
