96 A Few More Knocks With the unofficial beginning of summer
behind us, you may notice a few more knocks on your door.

With warmer
weather now settling in, campaigns and candidates are hitting the
streets and getting out into the community, meeting with voters on their
front porches and working hard to spread their message.

Over the
coming months, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to be the
one knocking on that door, making that phone call, attending that event,
or helping a campaign out in some other way.

While November may seem
far off, it'll be here faster than we know, and we all have a part to
play to ensure Republican victories on Election Day.

Speaking of that
... our candidate training is fast approaching and you won't want to
miss it. At this all-day event, you'll have the opportunity to hear and
learn from the best on all things grassroots, finance, and
communications that will give you the edge over your opponent.

But
this isn't just for candidates — any volunteer or grassroots activist is
welcome to join!

All of the information to register can be found at

We're looking forward to seeing you next week!

Sincerely,
Chairman

 Governor
Holcomb's Week That WasPerfect PitchGovernor Eric Holcomb speaks during
the groundbreaking of Eleven Park in downtown Indianapolis.
This week,
Governor Eric Holcomb participated in the groundbreaking of Eleven Park,
the soon-to-be permanent home of Indiana's professional soccer team,
Indy Eleven.
According to a release from Indy Eleven, Eleven Park will
feature a 20,000-seat multi-purpose stadium, 600 apartments, 205,000
square feet of office space, 197,000 square feet of retail space and
restaurants, hotels, public plazas and green space, parking, and more.
What they're saying: “The Eleven Park project is a gamechanger for the
capital city and magnet for the entire state,” said Gov. Holcomb.
“Eleven Park will create quality of life benefits for all Hoosiers that
go far beyond a soccer stadium and will be yet another showstopper to
add to our toolbox as we work to attract next-level investment from
across the globe.”  More: On Monday, Gov. Holcomb shared a
Memorial Day message urging Hoosiers to use the day to honor the
sacrifices of our veterans and "commit to doing our part to keep our
country strong and free."

Avoiding a Democrat DefaultThanks to Republican
leadership, the United States will avoid a first-of-its-kind
catastrophic default while cutting spending for the first time in
decades.

How we got here: For over 100 days, President Biden refused
to negotiate over raising the debt ceiling, saying he would accept
nothing less than a "clean raise" and a blank check.
But when House
Republicans passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act, President Biden was forced
to come to the table. The result: With just a four-vote majority in the
House — the slimmest in decades — and with Democrats controlling the
Senate and the White House, Republicans were able to stop the President
Biden's $5 trillion tax hike and reckless agenda, while taking the first
step to restoring fiscal sanity in Washington, D.C.
According to the
CBO, the [link removed]
Fiscal Responsibility Act will save $2.1 trillion over the next six
years. This is just the first step in breaking Democrats' spending
addiction.

HBWI The Herald Bulletin:

"The governor just signed House Bill 1005
into law this week, and it is the perfect kickoff to June’s National
Homeownership Month in Indiana. HB1005 will help make housing
infrastructure costs more affordable. This session legislators also
included the Attainable Homeownership Tax Credit in the budget to aid
nonprofits in affordable homeownership development.
"With record lows
in housing inventory due to rising construction costs, these new laws
will be a big boost for affordable homeownership development across the
state."

 Congressmen Pence, Bucshon See
Legislation Pass House Commerce Committee Legislation from Congressmen
Greg Pence (IN-06) and Larry Bucshon (IN-08) passed the House Committee
on Energy and Commerce last week.

The details: Though the bills
tackle vastly different issues, both bills focus on cutting
bureaucratic red tape to make processes more efficient and effective
for Hoosiers and Americans.
Pence's SPEED Act will improve consumer
access to broadband internet, especially in rural locations. Bucshon's
Securing the U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Act
will expedite the process for Americans at risk and waiting for organ
transplant. More: You can learn more about the bills

Session Spotlight: SEA 2 This session, there were 252 bills
passed by the legislature and signed by Gov. Holcomb. Over the next
several weeks, this section will be dedicated to highlighting some of
those bills.

The bill: SEA 2 (taxation of pass through entities),
signed February 22, 2023.

The details: SEA 2 alters state taxation
law so businesses may deduct all state payments on federal tax returns,
granting Hoosier businesses millions in federal tax savings.
This bill
will help small businesses to receive unlimited federal deductions for
their state tax payments, leveling the playing field with larger
corporations. The Latest from FactCheckBiden.com Biden has
falsely claimed that Republicans are rooting for a default. Nothing
could be further from the truth. That’s why House Republicans passed a
responsible debt limit increase.

The facts: Biden is (again) lying
to distract from his record, but the facts speak for themselves.
Biden
has wreaked havoc on American energy independence after promising to
[link removed] “eliminate”
oil and natural gas. Under Biden’s leadership, illegal immigrants and
deadly drugs like fentanyl have
[link removed] flooded across the
border. On crime, Biden has done nothing to solve the crime wave and
instead has
[link removed]-
admin/ surrounded himself with "defund the police" supporters.
Republicans are the ones who are working to
[link removed] rein in
spending while Democrats fearmonger and obstruct. What is true? Biden is
a failing president.
