** Remembering fallen soldiers
------------------------------------------------------------
On Memorial Day, we paid tribute to those who marched, flew and sailed in defense of our nation, never to see their loved ones again. Since the founding of our state, nearly 3,000 Utahns have lost their lives protecting our freedoms. We were honored to join the Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs, Rep. Burgess Owens, Rep. Blake Moore, Maj. Gen. Turley and other leaders on Memorial Day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
It’s impossible to adequately express our gratitude for the service and sacrifice of those serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and their families – but we must never stop trying. To view photos from the event, click here ([link removed]) .
** Visiting with Veterans

We were humbled to visit with veterans at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City this week. So many veterans still bear the scars of past wars and continue to fight personal battles of pain and loneliness. They deserve our ongoing support and gratitude for their service.

** Celebrating Junior Achievement
------------------------------------------------------------
Our kids need exposure to the world of work, and Junior Achievement (JA) of Utah does just that, teaching students how to be independent, how to work with others and how to navigate life. Many of our young people have never met an entrepreneur, a banker, or a business leader. JA provides this kind of unique opportunity for mentoring, coaching and encouragement.
Grateful to recognize all the amazing work being done by JA and to present a good friend — Lisa Eccles of the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation — with the Junior Achievement of Utah Philanthropic Legacy Award! Lisa and her family are truly the best of Utah!
** Saluting our snowfighters
------------------------------------------------------------
Keeping our roads safe is a big task, especially during a record breaking winter. So we hosted snowfighters from the Utah Department of Transportation this week to thank them for a job well done. From UDOT’s avalanche forecasting and canyon crews, the Town of Alta, and ski resort management from Alta and Snowbird, these snowfighters demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise in managing the extraordinary winter our state experienced.
The Cottonwood Canyon crew members worked relentlessly to assess conditions and clear snowfall and debris from the roads, despite facing high avalanche danger themselves. We’re grateful for them and their service! View photos from our visit here ([link removed]) .
** LPGA Tour set to tee off in Washington County

The LPGA is coming back to the Beehive State!
In spring 2025, the Ladies Professional Golf Association will return after nearly 60 years. The best female golfers in the world will compete in Ivins at Black Desert Resort, a 19-hole golf course designed by championship golfer Tom Weiskopf and architect Phil Smith.
Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson lauded the news and welcomed the infusion of tourism dollars for Washington County. The announcement underscored Utah’s track record for hosting world-class athletes.
We can’t wait for a global audience to watch their favorite golfers tee off – surrounded by one of the world’s most magnificent landscapes.

* The Utah nonprofit Tech-Moms — one of six programs we spotlighted duringNovember's Week of STEM ([link removed].) — has launched Tech-Moms in Color for women interested in working in the technology field. The tech industry can be tough to break into, and women of color face even greater barriers. Applications are being accepted now attech-moms.org ([link removed]) and the first cohort will begin in September.
