Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) News Brief. ? Prospective Applicant Webinar for Youth-Focused Disability Employment Policy Funding Opportunity The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced the availability of $1.5 million in funds for the first year of a cooperative agreement to operate a policy development center focused on advancing employment opportunities and outcomes for youth with disabilities. Administered by the department?s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), the funding will build on the work of ODEP?s Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth. This youth technical assistance center will conduct research, engage with the workforce system and its partners, identify effective policies and practices that support the employment of youth with disabilities, and provide resources and training to help support their transition to adulthood. ODEP anticipates the availability of $7.5 million in funds for a five-year budget period, subject to federal fund availability. The solicitation is a re-competition of an existing cooperative agreement. A prospective applicant webinar will be held on Tuesday, June 6 from 2:30 ? 4:00 PM ET. DOL's Bureau of International Labor Affairs Posts RFI The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of International Labor Affairs (USDOL/ILAB) has published a Request for Information (RFI) to seek input, advice, knowledge, recommendations, and promising practices focused on the relationship between disability rights and access to decent work from a broader audience that is experienced in strengthening engagement for disabled persons, including disabled workers, and supporting disability inclusion and economic empowerment as potential strategies and remedies. In Case You Missed It: DOL Launches Mental Health PSA Video As part of its ?Mental Health at Work? initiative, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has released a video public service announcement (PSA) to help advance mental health and wellness in the workforce. The video features Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su, as well as employers, association leaders and workers who have lived experiences related to mental health in the workplace. Launched in May during Mental Health Awareness Month, the DOL ?Mental Health at Work? initiative offers resources for employers, workers and others?all designed to create supportive workplaces that prioritize mental health.
