Dear Friend,

June 6 marks the 56th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip. On that day this year, dozens of organizations and faith communities will publicly pledge their support to be apartheid-free [link removed] — a joint commitment to oppose all forms of racism and to work to cut all ties to Israeli apartheid.

Join us on June 6 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT for an online gathering to hear from faith leaders who signed the pledge. You’ll also learn about ways that you can help build a wide anti-apartheid movement throughout North America. Register today [link removed] .

Upcoming Events
AFSC Healing Justice Workshop [link removed]
June 10, 11 a.m. / 8 a.m. PT
Meet young leaders from AFSC's healing justice programs to learn about injustices in the U.S. immigration system and criminal legal system. We’ll hear how students have used photography, filmmaking, and other forms of art to drive social change and how past participants continue their advocacy today. Sign up to attend online or in person in New York.

Reimagining Independence Day [link removed]
June 29, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT
Join AFSC and the Interfaith Immigration Coalition for a conversation on the meaning of Independence Day in today’s global migration context. Who is Independence Day for? How has the United States lived – and not lived – into the values of liberty and equality in its approach to migration? What is our vision for a U.S. immigration system that truly embodies these values and respects the dignity and worth of every person? Together, we’ll discuss ways that we can work toward that vision today.
