Hello Teton Dems!

Going forward, our meetings and newsletters will highlight our mission and platform. If you haven't visited our website recently, please do!

Reproductive Health and Justice

From our 2022 Platform: We support every woman’s right to have unrestricted access to pregnancy prevention services and the full range of reproductive healthcare choices including abortion.

Giovannina Anthony Explains It All
Dr. Giovannina Anthony spoke at our May meeting at Farmstead Cider (thanks again to Orion Bellorado for providing the venue). She discussed abortion access in Wyoming over the decades, the current status, House Bill 152 (Life is a Human Right), Senate File 109 (Prohibiting Chemical Abortions), and the current lawsuits here and across the nation.

Down Ballot Races Can Make All the Difference:  In a great reminder of why local elections matter, Arne Jorgensen pointed out that our Mayor and Town Council first appointed Melissa Owens to be a Municipal Court Judge in 2014, which led to Governor Gordon appointing her to her current position as Teton County District Court Judge.

We are so fortunate to have Judge Owens presiding over the lawsuit against HB152, in which Dr. Anthony is one of six plaintiffs. As that lawsuit has developed, Wyoming’s Secretary of State Chuck Gray has stooped to a cringe-worthy new low as he seeks to join the lawsuit  as a co-defendant. Why would a Secretary of State want to get involved in something like this? Apparently, in hopes of becoming Governor himself. Governor Gordon and State Attorney General Hill oppose Gray’s participation, which must make things pretty awkward down in Cheyenne. Stay tuned!

A Penny* for Your Thoughts

Our work to defend democracy, protect abortion rights, and build a better Teton County and Wyoming can't happen without it. Please join us at Farmstead Cider on Thursday, June 15th at 6pm to help us brainstorm how to better fundraise and organize Teton County? This work takes everyone and we need your ideas and assistance.
*But you might prefer refreshments, instead!
CHILD CARE WILL BE PROVIDED.

Help Wanted!

We are looking for an Events Chair to help organize the many ideas we have for getting together including the return of Trivia Night and our annual picnic.  Please email us if you are interested.
